Our first day of commercial generation occurred on December 19 when the first of 32 inverters was commissioned by Solectria. The entire system became operational on December 21st. Since that time, we’ve been doing clean-up, punch list work and monitoring the output despite the often-cloudy and snowy Michigan winter. Solar production in the winter months can be as little as 25% of that in summer months, so some of our work relied on us waiting around for sunny days.
Thank you all for following along on this project and please watch for correspondence from your local distribution cooperative for how to participate in community solar. We’ll also be doing a ribbon cutting ceremony towards the beginning of summer when the weather is nicer.
